How important is a romantic character trait in your partner?

If you are dating stage/ meeting someone. Is it important for you if a partner is romantic and if so how much. For example would you still care for a love letter or something like that? Would that touch you or would you say that´s rubbish?

i don't see much point in being "romantic", just seems pretty sappy to me. if i ever want to be with a person, it would just be because i enjoy spending time with them without them having to do weird stuff to impress me.

It is only important to me because it signifies and appropriate condition. Romantic heart, soft eyes and tone and all-in go together.
