Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yThat's a tough question because there are a lot of important things. Even "little" things.
I'd say patience is high on the list. People who criticize over little things will stress me out.
Right now, being clean and organized would be high on the list. Someone who was ok with helping with my stuff once in a while without flying off the handle about "the official right way" vs another way that works just as well. I don't want "a maid." But someone with a similar philosophy and who didn't just throw stuff around a lot would be a priority.
Right now I'm dealing with the consequences of two hoarders (and generational stuff) - trying to declutter, and try to sell stuff, or toss it, or donate it. It's taken hundreds of hours, and I'm not even halfway done. It's still overwhelming. Once this hellishness is over, I will hope that if I ever have kids, that I would never put them through anything like this when I go.
Someone who supports my dreams and interests.
Someone who doesn't spend like crazy - someone good with money. Money tends to be a huge thing that most couples fight about, so the better a potential spouse would be with not overspending or buying frivolous stuff; the better a woman is with saving (without being too stingy)... and if she contributed... the more likely we would succeed.10 Reply

+1 yTrustworthiness.
I cannot, in my good judgment, ever consider dating a man who is not trustworthy. If he breeches my trust, out to the streets he go! If I tell him something, I don't want him going around telling his friends or people he knows what I said to him. It reflects badly on his character. If someone is honest and dependable, they also most likely have the traits I look for in a partner:
- empathy
- sound judgment
- kind
- respectful
- never unnecessarily aggressive
- assertive
- optimistic
- gracious
- good listener
- loyalty
- accountability
- emotional intelligence
- knowledgeable, but NOT a show off
I want someone I can depend on when I'm feeling down. I want a partner I can share my life with.20 Reply
+1 yI think it must be trust. Kindness and patience are very important, but trust experiment. Whether you’re just dating or getting married, it is most important.
When you’re able to trust your partner, it is one less concern on your mind. When you bring children into the fold, should you choose to do so, it’s even more important because they are responsible for the lives of others at that moment.
