He's a freshman and im still in 8th grade, is there anyway for me to get to know him and become friends and maybe more next year when I'm a freshman?

He'll be a sophomore when I'm a freshman and I'm concerned too because he's literally a foot taller than me I don't know his exact height but I know that's he's at least 6 foot 3 and he's really strong and I'm barely 5 foot 3 and 78 pounds with scoliosis I'm a pretty good cross-country runner and he's a basketball and football player. All in all we are polar opposites and he's only ever spoken to me twice, and that was last year, and one was saying sorry for tripping me in the hall the other was later that week he came out of his Spanish class and said Hola. Like do those even count as interactions. Sorry this is a lot to read but please A. tell me what to do to get over him B. Tell me how to have a big enough glow up so he'll notice me C. Or just how to talk to him. Thanks for reading... please help

So it sounds like you have enough opportunity to approach him, and some guys like that more these days than historically. Does your school have most of the grades outside of elementary in the same building is that how you’re still in contact? Most guys will go for a slightly younger girl but crossing that junior high to high school barrier might be a bit of an ask at that age. The older you get the less of a difference one year in age will make, but I understand it can be a bit more meaningful at that point. As far as a glow up, you know what your best features are and how to complement them far better than some stranger on the Internet ever will so my suggestion would be if there’s anyway you can find out what he’s into and draw attention to that?

Think of a pretext to talk to him. Look your best that day. Smile a lot. Touch his arm once or twice when you talk to him (but no more than that or he’ll think you’re easy). You guys have sports in common. Maybe talk about that.
