I know there is online dating and it is common

In reality and in real life how should a guy approach a girl to talk to her? Have a conversation and hold a conversation?

Maybe ask for her number without seeming disrespectful?

If he sees a girl in gym? In the street in public? Without seeming like a creep or creepy? What should be said at start?

Go up to her and say something nice you've noticed about her or start a conversation by asking her what she likes about this gym etc and how long she's been going, if she enjoys it... But like always if she's not interested don't push her it'll make her even less likely to like you back. Maybe ask for her number if the conversation went well and you feel she was enjoying herself talking to you.
