I don't see a problem. At 23, she's mature enough to know what she wants. She's a grown woman. Maybe she wants a guy who is more mentally and emotionally mature. Maybe he is more stable and financially secure than younger guys.

31 is still very young. Those are actually really good ages. They are both very virile. Maybe they have amazing sex.

The best relationship I ever had (aside from my wife) was with a 30 year old woman when I was 37. We had everything in common and got along great. I liked everything about he and wound up loving her with all my heart. She loved me, too.

Because he may want someone without kids from past relationships, he wants someone less damaged by drugs or alcohol, he wants to date and live together for a while before starting a family with someone new and still wants healthy kids, he may have more interests in common with her than with women from his own age. He could even want someone that may not have been morally corrupted by the liberal university system yet. There can be many reasons.

A 7-8 year age difference? That really is not the biggest age difference. So when she's 30, he would be 38. Is that so terrible? They can't help the age they are in, if it's love its love. My father is 56 and his girlfriend is 45. Not a big deal.

Nature shows that women tend to feel more secure around men older than her as they are on average more mature, healthier and have their lives sorted out more and men tend to prefer younger women due to her fertility being better when she's younger. However that's not always the case as both my grandmothers are older than my grandfather 3 years and 1 year for my paternal and maternal respectively.

There's many possibilities, it can also depend on what he's looking for. But he simply may not care about the age difference and likes her. "Others" might care, but he doesn't.

I think it’s his preference. Like myself if I only date who either 1 to 9 years apart in age wise. I don’t care if she’s older than me or younger than me. I think prefer younger due to I want some kids of my own.
