Oh it's very rude! However, nowadays it seems to be the norm though in terms of avoiding someone, or indirectly saying you're no longer interested in them.

Shame people can't just tell someone when they're no longer interested in them, but I guess that's asking too much.

Yeah, like how hard is it to just be straight up and tell a person you aren't interested anymore, like if you don't want to say it in person, text or message them, it's really immature and rude.
