If a man is 42 and wants to settle & have kids with a partner, how long is he likely to spend wasting time with someone he’s not sure he’s that into?

I think really depends on how important those kids are. And how old he wants to be with kids.
My attitude has always been "how ya going to talk about kids if you're not even sure you want to spend your life with this person". I get most women reach a point where they want to have a family. But I've always raised an eyebrow to those women who talk about kids before they've even found a partner.
