Formal ex.
I would like to go out on a date with you. How's Saturday night dinner at 7?

Informal ex.
Wanna grab some dinner on Saturday at 7?

If I would be interested in dating, then of course I would much prefer the formal version.

The reason is that it gives the impression that the asker has a minimum of education and that sex is not right away placed on top of his list of priorities at the end of the 1st. date.

The second version gives me the impression that the meal has to be ended quickly so that the rest of the evening can be spent doing something else and that is what disturbs me about today's younger generation.

Although I am aware that both formal and informal ways of asking hide the same final intent but the formal one hides it a little better.
