He’s going away and I don’t know what to do?

My ex and I reconnected and have been talking for the past few months. However, yesterday he found out he’s getting deployed for six months really soon. But we are just taking things slow and the future is uncertain. I don’t want to pressure him but I feel like I have to know now. Like what should I say or do? I said to him I’d wait for him and support but he only ignored my message and won’t give me an exact answer. I even said I’d be happy as friends so if he wanted to call it quits he knows it’s okay. What should I do?
