I love him but he's leaving.

I've been with this guy for about 2 months. I know it's soon but I am completely in love with him. We're going our separate ways for the summer. We live about 8 hours apart and he works 6 days a week on a fishing boat in the middle of nowhere.. so it's not like we'll see each other for the next 5 months.. I have never done long distance before and I feel like because of the circumstances with his work it's going to be extra difficult. I know that once you drop the "L" bomb it changes the entire dynamic of the relationship.. I'm looking for any sort of advice you can give me at this point...

First, I would say wait before you drop the "L" bomb. Many times we confuse love with the honeymoon phase of the relationship. Because we are so happy with this person we are convinced that we are in love with the person. I say wait to drop the "L" bomb after you have survived your first major fight. If you can handle that, then love is a definite possibility.

Secondly, the saying absence makes the heart grow fonder is sometimes true. This could be a great way to prove your love for each other. If you can make it work while separated by a body of water, then you should be able to make it last. Just don't obsess over him while he's gone. Be sure to go and have some fun and live your life while he's away and then be happy when you're together again. A lot of people seem to dwell on the fact that their significant other is not with them and they feel so alone. You're not! That's what friends are for!

Try a long distance relationship. Its going to be hard but if he has strong feelings about you as well hell make it work :). And not all LDRs are bad.Mine now is amazing and I don't know it just feel like were really close.
