Is it shady behavior?

I noted my boyfriend erasing messages on Facebook. This is making me wonder if he's trustworthy. I checked his phone because i had a weird feeling. Should i ask him about this? Or casually take a peak?

So what's the reason for the immediate distrust/suspicion? From past relationships (ie just don't trust men in general), or has he given you reason? A relationship can survive if there's mistrust, and think if it was reversed, if he automatically suspects you of something if you've given him no reason (how you'd feel). My thoughts are giving someone the benefit of the doubt and basic trust for them until they prove otherwise. Message erasing could simply be that, doesn't need the message anymore and deletes it. Why do you immediately go to "cheating" or something suspicious? That's what the real issue is, whatever makes you go to that thought. If from past relationships, or men in general, like women we are not "all the same" (as many women seem to feel), and if you're that "jaded" towards guys, maybe you aren't ready to date? Or if he's actually given you reason to mistrust him, or many other suspicious behavior (legit things), then maybe he's not the guy for you and you shouldn't keep seeing him? Trust is key though. So you have to have that. And it goes both ways, so if you confront him on it, he's going to think "she doesn't trust me", and it could damage your relationship. So some food for thought.
