Is this deceptive behavior?

My girlfriend told me several times that she was "not on speaking terms" with her most recent ex starting from when we became exclusive. Recently she told me she was texting him some for about two months right after we started. I pointed out the the contradiction. She denied any deception on her part. I told her I understood why she would cover that up and that she didn't do anything wrong. However she was still lying! That hurts. How do I help her see that I just dont want any more deception and that I want to trust her and move forward?
