Why do people say look’s don’t matter at all when they actually do?

To me, to be honest looks matter. They’re just not everything. I know the old saying you can’t judge a book by it’s cover. Even though looks/appearances can deceive, they will always be the first thing we notice. The reason is looks/appearances are the first visible thing we notice. As I see it, it’s not shallow to be attracted to someone for their looks and there’s nothing wrong with it.

There's what people would like to believe then there's reality. The two are not mutually exclusive. In an attempt not to hurt a person lying to them in my opinion does more damage, as they're bound to find out sooner or later. Looks only help with first impressions though, if you're a hot guy or gal & keep to yourself / introverted the vehement reactions from others can be MUCH WORSE.

It definitely plays a part.. look may not as important as personality is but it still considered matter but not much i’d say
