Do you think guys as wingman or girls as wingwoman are better at helping their own gender look good in front of a high quality romantic interest?

I'm asking who's a better wingman for their own.
I'm not talking about how girls are good at winging guys, and I know it's easier for girls to get sex in general, so we're not talking about that either. I'm talking about a high quality romantic interest to him/her.

Wingman - A person who helps, guides, or supports another, especially one who assists a friend in trying to seduce another person.

I think it really depends, but I kinda want to say girls.

This guy and his group of friends were walking infront of me and one guy turned around, walks towards me and says hi, then realises he can’t exactly walk back towards his friends and walks off. So his friends started talking to me, cracking up laughing and said ‘that’s my friend RJ, want his snap’ I said no because I had a boyfriend.

The second time they saw me, his friends told me he doesn’t care if I had a boyfriend, and were acting like real douchebags, making me super uncomfortable. So I told them to leave me alone and the poor guy who wanted my snap, pushed them all away from me.

So yeah, shitty wingman’s. They started harassing me, following me around and making me uncomfortable. I’ll give that guy credit though, as soon as I said they were scaring me, he made his friends leave.

I voted guys.
I wouldn't trust another girl helping me. First of all girls will say "oh you look good in that dress", "you can do anything you want", "he's lucky to have you" and variations which are all BS. It is very rare for a girl to be completely honest, fear of hurting the other, I don't know. This is only my experience though.

Oh, and I know you didn't ask this, but I think guys helping girls and vice versa are more helpful, as you know your own gender better so you can help out the other.

It depends really, just don't ask a Tarryn to be your wingwoman, they make excuses not to help you in being a wingwoman, not trying to discriminate against anyone who is named Tarryn, but the Tarryn type is just the worst, IK from experience of dealing with my cousin who ironically is named and is a Tarryn.

But when it comes down to it, a wingman/wingwoman is that friend you need to help you meet new people, and you help them too, and as long as you both get along and enjoy one another's company, your wingman/wingwoman will have fun spending time with you. Just make sure they're not a Barney Stinson, those types of wingmans tend to be full of shiz.

Tough question. in my opinion they're equally bad. Guys especially younger guys tend to hate passive aggressively the most common example is by saying or doing something in front of the girl that embarrasses the guy. "Hey you're the 1st girl we've ever seen him w/ etc"
Girls typically work on the premise of one hooks up we all hook up. So they will just blatantly hate. The grab your girl and pull her away while she's talking to the cute guy strategy. Just had this happen recently in Phoenix.

This hardly seems like a gender question, more of the personality of whoever it is. My best friend and I are great wingwomen for eachother because we have completely different taste in guys and we never need to worry about whether the other is secretly wanting them too and we're genuinely trying to help. But plenty of males or females wouldn't do that for sure. Not a gender question to me.

Men for sure. Girls make silly mistakes because they've not had to try and pick up a girl. Even lesbians don't have quite the same experience because they have the benefit of being female on their side which leads to a different path to getting a girl.

honestly i don't think wing woman/ wingman really works most of the time. Because the reality is that when you're trying to approach a stranger who doesn't know you, he / she will judge you based off your looks 95% of the time. A girl / guy can make a decision of whether or not they are interested in you within less than 30 seconds. No amount of talking / getting to know each other will change that. (Unless in very rare cases).

My player friend used me as bait, I didn't need to do anything just to breathe. In seducing girls who didn't want him but didn't walk away, he was skilled 10 levels above me anyway.

The whole wingman concept is flawed. If anything, it's a good way for the wingman to attract the person they're supposed to be setting their mate up with.
I know that sounds like the plot of every romcom ever, but I've seen it happen and been on both ends of it myself.

The trick about being a good wing man is to get past the meet and greet then disappear. Too many wing men, think they are good wing men, but the are not they hang round and draw attention away from their buddy.

I think girls can be better at it, but if you approach a girl with her friend there... well its tough because that friend does not go away and then your stuck trying to flirt with both of them before it becomes obvious and you insult one or the other or both.

In my experience and observations, men try to cheer their bros into one night stands and sex and even pressure each other sometimes while girls take their time, are more observant and seem to watch each other's backs better.

Wing women are there to satisfy the target woman's need for social proof. I. e. other women think this guy is attractive so he's attractive.
