I’m too shy to put myself out there and meet guys. I’ve started accepting defeat and think I’m meant to be single. Is this just my fate?

I was scared of breaking my heart as well and because of that I broke hearts of some guys first which I regret now cause I would have amazing romances not being the scared shy teen girl who turned down all the offers to be loved.

Then I decided to give in and found a guy who fell for me real hard and I fell for him as well, can’t tell I’ve not been hurt, I’ve been but that’s life and in the end, you will regret NOT doing things more than you’ll regret doing them.

You dont have to put yourself out there and make it a big deal full of anxiety. There are plenty of shy men who are also nervous about dating. Shy men and women need to learn to approach each other in a way both are comfortable. Dont mimic outgoing people. Its just a characteristic to be outgoing. There is nothing special or superior about it. The fesad of dating culture has everybody pretending to be someone they are not. Just be yourself. Men find shyness in women attractive or even needed. In women it is a very feminine quality.

Honestly, we have many guys in their late 20's early 30's posting that there are few if any women in your age range, which a common age for women to marry.

Honestly, there should be guys fighting over you. Be more proactive.

I wonder if I’m also self-sabotaging with these feelings. Maybe I’ve convinced myself I’m not lovable or sexy or anything extraordinary so I’ve opted out.
I actually believe guys aren’t attracted to me romantically or physically. Sad for me to admit but it’s scary what we can convince ourselves to believe.

Not necessarily, you've put yourself out there on here. so you should be able to do it "in the field" just try and flirt with guys your interested in and don't worry about the outcome of the flirt or pass you make on the guy. If it doesn't work like you want chalk it up to experience and try again.

I’m scared of getting hurt and then being destroyed emotionally and feeling worse off. I’m very protective over my energy. But my biggest fear is guys aren’t attracted to me romantically or in really any way. Maybe as a friend. Not sure why I feel this way but I believe it.

You are not sure but you do feel this way. That is also a choice, choosing to believe in you being an unattractive person all while you are not sure. If you really want something, you must work for it. The worst thing a guy can do to you is say 'no'. That isn't that bad.

I understand. But most guys I talk to aren’t interested or slip away really fast.
Is there even anything wrong if I choose to remain single and never marry?

There are many guys out there still, many different guys. I think there is something wrong if you choose to remain single, but are sad that you are single.

I don’t think I’m capable of maintaining a relationship. I also have PTSD so no one would want to deal with that.

Do remember that it's hard to find the right person too. I had a big argument with a close friend in the past. We're still friends. We listened and tried to work through it, despite our differences. This is not for everyone. So failing at maintaining a relationship could be your fault, but it could also be theirs, or both of you. Some people just aren't meant to be.

It never really worked out for me. I’m not sure how to explain to my family when they ask me in like 5-10 years why I am still single. I am not going to find the right person, unfortunately. Part of me really wants it but the other half is annoyed and feeling like I’m not good enough at all.
