My boyfriend beat me badly last night and has been holding me against my will since. He gave me my phone back after taking it but I’m still afraid to contact 911 because I know they will knock and announce themselves and when they do he won’t open the door and will just finish where he left off last night just because he will be upset that I called them. I’m afraid the police being right outside the door won’t stop him

Most abusers do not want to be found out and use fear to contain and control the situation. But in reality there really is nothing he can do. Its pretty much over. Get out ASAP.

Tips: Its a good idea to have a code word for help. I set one up for my daughter. When that word is used the rest of the conversion takes on a far different meaning.

You can either take the risk he clocks you a few times before they can get in or you can not call the police and it's gonna happen more like the last time again and again.

Call the police and explain that you’re worried he won’t answer the door. Make it very clear that you’re scared for your life, he’s holding you hostage and beating you. Make it clear, especially the holding you hostage part.

Do you have a trusted person (much preferably a guy or two or three) to call or text? Call them too. Police can be shit sometimes so you can’t completely trust them.

I’d call the police and a few guys you might know and have them come around and get you.

Call the cops. You don't have any choice. Tell the 911 operator that he might do something if he knows you called. When 911 gets a call like that, they will always stay on the phone with you until the police arrive. They will probably stay on the phone with you until the police are inside and know you are safe.

Don't make it complicated. Call them. Stay on the phone. Let the 911 dispatcher and the police do their job. If they think you are in danger they are not going to walk away. If you have to whisper or stay completely quit, the dispatcher will understand that. If they ask any questions, very quietly whisper yes or no if you can.

I'm sure they are trained for this specific situation and have dealt with it before.

Update, I did call the police I told them everything from the hitting to him keeping me against my will and they approached it as a kidnapping. When they knocked on the door they said they were there for a kidnapping because I told them I was held against my will after he had did what he did to me but they still let me report the abuse. I had pictures of the bruises which came in handy, unfortunately when the cops got there he ran out the back like a coward so they couldn’t arrest him but there is a warrant out for him. I blocked his number and what’s crazy is he texted me from a different number saying “You’re gonna go to jail for filing a false police report. I didn’t kidnap you. Plus I didn’t do anything to you, I have witnesses.” Which he knows is a lie because no was there when he did all those things to me but me and him. He doesn’t even realize or know that I took pictures of the bruises and showed the cops when I reported the incident and that I also told them I was pregnant, so as much as he wants to believe he won’t be getting charged with anything, he will and if he truly felt like he didn’t do anything to me and he can prove it like he said, he wouldn’t have took off when they showed up but I suppose that’s typical, abusive, narcissistic behavior. Anyways I’m safe, my mom is gonna go with me to the urgent care in the morning so I can make sure all is good with the baby and that I can still hear his heartbeat and to make sure he didn’t harm the baby when he harmed me. It’s gonna be a long journey of recovering on top of preparing for mother hood for the first time but I’m just gonna take it one step at a time and the first step was leaving and making him face consequences for his ugly actions.

yes you should call the cops. like the cops aren't just gonna be like "oh well they didn't open, so we'll just leave", when they are sent out to a domestic violence report. they will get in one way or another.

Probably. I would say a gun is your best bet. But only if your willing to use it. Cops can help you. But he pretty much has to murder you first. And a lot of good it does then.

He didn’t just give me my phone back, this morning after last night, since I am pregnant, I had an idea. I lied and told him I needed to go to the urgent care because I was cramping and noticing light blood when I went to the bathroom. None of that is true but I knew I needed a reason to get around people who could help and call 911for me. I was gonna slip the nurse a note or front desk receptionist so I told him I needed my phone to make the appointment. Which I did and we were suppose to go at 3:00 but it’s like he let time pass and eventually the place closed.

Call 911 and go on like you are ordering a pizza. It's a pretty common thing, the operator will know why you are calling and give you yes or no questions to answer and they will get you help. I wish you the best, nobody deserves that.

I wish that I could call and tell them to just enter without knocking. I am 5 months pregnant and he did all that to me even while pregnant. I’ve been assuming if I let that be known in the 911 call they won’t hesitate to just enter and not knock at all but it’s no guarantee.
