Do some or most guys not feel comfortable being in a relationship until they have a job or feel somewhat established and secure career-wise?

I can speak for myself, I wouldn’t feel comfortable about a relationship if I don’t have a stable job with a good contract, especially those days and these times. I don’t want to seem unable to afford things I need or to offer a minimum stability to my partner.

Absolutely, even in my 20's I knew I had to have my act %100 together first. Job, money saved, car, apartment were the minimum requirements to date in my area. (Besides the usual six foot tall etc).

And that's just to get your foot in the door so to speak. It was really hard to keep up and the catch 22 is that in order to have these things I worked seven days a week and didn't have the time.

I was in college and did not finish. I expected that I would just have a string of minimum wage jobs my whole life. I never really made an issue about a career when I was dating and nobody ever had a problem with it.
