Doesn’t seem to be as interested as I thought?

Question

Basically I’ve known this girl for some time now. Met back in college went out a few times, was intimate once, and actually tried to somewhat pursue each other. However, she transferred sophomore year as she wanted to go back home at the time. She kind of went off the grid for a bit from her socials so I had no way to contact her. Fast foward to now, we kept in contact on and off as she added me on social media both my personal and clothing brand page. I’m suppose to visit her hometown for family purposes but I asked to go out sometime with her while there and she said yes. This will happen at the end of the month though so I gotta wait a little till then. Told her not too long ago that it’s been a while I’ve seen her in person and look forward to it and she replied this:

“Aw that’s sweet of you thank you  and good morning!
Yes it’s been a long time now I would say. I’m looking forward to that as well”

So now she’s always posting selfies on her stories and I give her compliments here and there and tell her to have a good day but when she replies she seems non interested now:

“aw thanks *my nickname 💙*”
“Thank you, likewise! ✨”
”thank you!!”

just standard replies.
idk…am I overthinking it or am I right in terms of her not being that interested really.

Hmm. Would you say it was ever an official relationship or more like friends with benefits?

Also, distance can impact relationships. Have you already met her since asking her? It is possible she has gotten very busy school and family... and her normal enthusiasm has been drained. I heard a woman who is happily married to the same guy said back ehen she was studying her boyfriend hated it but supported her.

You have to ask yourself if you want more serious.. then maybe you can talk to her about it directly... from there you guys can have more regular meet ups. Does she drive? Looking for 50 50 isn't always reasonable reasonable relationships.. . they can be like a heartbeat... times where we withdraw and times where we are closer... it naturally occurs and doesn't necessarily mean losing interest.

Did you she have a boyfriend before you that she dated recently before your relationship?

You're overthinking.

Don't look too deep into her texts. She's already told you she's looking forward to seeing you.

Don't make assumptions or it'll create a "protection wall" around you that she'll pick up in. If she senses you have a wall up, she'll pull away and distance herself, because she'll interpret that as a lack of interest on your end.

There's no red flag in my opinion. Just focus on looking forward to meeting her. If you make assumptions and overthinkink, it'll create an issue that wasn't there on the first place.

I think honestly you should take things a bit easy and not to overthink. You sure are friends but probably have lost contacts for a bit of time have interrupted the growth of your friendship. You were intimate you said, like you talked each other about intimate problems and something like that, and it is beautiful but probably she, during her sophomore year away from home, has discovered another way of living and probably she wouldn’t bound herself to hometown. So you’re yet her friend but, I’m sorry, I feel like you’ve been “old-town-friendzoned”.

Do not worry about it too much. She clearly likes you at least as a friend, who knows if it is more.

Just go with the flow, see what happens... with time you may find out that you like her more than she likes you. Even then don't worry about it, just be friends as one never knows what the future holds.

Since you've been apart for awhile, she may also have other interests she has been pursuing or maybe not even doing that.

Just enjoy what time you can spend with her as a friend, catch up on things and get a feel for it when you do.

She seems
"curious" about you - but she is keeping it on the lite side. And since she probably won't be seeing you after you two meet, she has her right guard up so she won't end up getting hurt. That's why her answers are simplified with a "thank you".

She clearly enjoys your attention and doesn't want to lose you but only till the time you don't find out that she has some more important things or people in her life. Avoid being too intrusive into her personal life. The best option for you to do a fact check is suddenly stop contacting her, even if she tries contacting you or confronts you for the distance then just treat her as a friend. Then her words and behaviour are bound to reveal what she thinks of you.

It sounds to me like maybe she’s unaware you are looking for anything more than friends right now. Maybe she’s generally a blasé kind of girl or perhaps she thinks you wouldn’t want anything romantically with her now due to distance?
I definitely don’t think there are any red flags, you should be open and tell her you’d like to have something more with her if that’s what you want ☺️

Sounds like she's being polite. And it's been awhile since you've seen her AND you don't live in her town. How interested do you expect her to be about one date? And you won't be around after the date is over.

I think she's being polite, but if she's down to hang out later this month then it means she's somewhat interested. You can keep texting her while waiting for an actual time you guys hang out. Text her questions and try to initiate conversations. If she keeps the convo going then she's most likely interested.
