What does it mean when a guy randomly asks your hand in marriage. Technically doesn't it mean he is committed to me and wants to live the rest of his life with me. That's a good thing, but everyone around me is unconvinced saying I'm rushing it. The reason we date someone is to check if we're compatible with someone and to assure ourselves that this person is someone who I'm able to trust, this is someone who will be loyal to me and one day probably marry me (at least for me that's the purpose of dating). We've dated for around 5-7 months and he's proposed to me and I accepted. What's the worse that could happen?

We met as part of a project group due to a collaboration between our companies. My main task was to hold the after-event and ensure things go smoothly etc, I'm mainly in the content marketing department, this was just a additional task. We started with a casual exchange but slowly discovered we have so many similar interests, apparently attended the same university (but different campus/buildings, like 17 minutes away from each other) and while it was awkward, it was the natural type of awkward.
Honestly was sure I'd never see him again so after the event when he'd disappeared for a sec, I lowkey panicked and I started asking everyone if they'd seen him, running around the place looking for him to get his number He found that gesture amicable and asked if I'm interested in him.
I mention this because see it was our first meeting and he was already quite quick in asking if I was interested in him. We casually dated online for 2 months (as we were both quite busy at work and don't live close). When we re-met in November he formally asked me out to officially be in a relationship.
Yesterday he proposed to me saying that he agrees that we've only spent 5 months in a relationship (technically 7) but he can imagine the rest of his life with me. I agreed, am I rushing it?
