Yes. I dated a girl last summer for close to 7 months. We were not exclusive and were not officially together. I made that very clear with her. We acted like a couple but I just didn’t want her. I never actually got real romantic feelings for her.

There are three drives: lust, infatuation, attachment. If the relationship is based only on attachment and a little bit of initial lust, it can't last in my opinion. Need that infatuation, that's the spark, that's the part where you can't stop thinking about the person and get awkward around them etc.
