I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say I waited about twice that long for my first girlfriend, and we were just childhood sweethearts when the wait started.
Still living with my parents we had to separate because of a move, but we promised each other we’d wait. Great to hear the story. Please never date or marry any other girl again after her and live with her memories for your remaining life if you really loved her. Even if she died, you're not single. No girl who really loved you would want you to love someone else. I would never love a guy who gets along with some other girl after my death. I will make sure a guy knows that before he is in a relationship with me. You would call it as selfish. But I would call it as loyalty. If you're loyal to your girl, she will be peaceful and life never punishes you for being loyal to her. It might test your loyalty for her but never punishes your loyalty. You will get rewarded after this life if you prove your loyalty to her.

In few movies, they give a wrong interpretation that a dead person's soul want you to move on. No, sometimes, she also might be feeling painful to stay away from you until life decides to make you both meet again, maybe next life.

You don't need to die since she died. You can live you life doing other things than love till you live your remaining life. May be do the things that she wanted to do in this life but couldn't. Take the career of her choices, do some charitable work, do some good while you live. But, never marry or look for another girl which will eventually make you seem to be disloyal and your ex might hate you to an extent that she never wishes to meet you again even after this life. Don't push way someone you truly love to that extent simply because situations aren't favourable at the moment. Have patience, lead a right, good and loyal life even with her memories without hurting yourself in the process and staying strong with all the good work that you do.
