Why isn't my guy friend popular with the ladies?

People keep acting like this is what matters. Don't get me wrong, money, a nice job and education is all good stuff and a bonus.

What really tends to matter is ability to intrigue. You can be nerdy or badass. It xan be how you light up when you talk about the recent progress of real life lightsabres. At some point it is your ability to draw a person in and make them care about things.

But from a marketing perspective? 30 something guy with a Phd? Many angles to make that work dating wise even if he's a little dry and boring. Might only lead to a casual thing.

Sort of? But again, it isn't that simple. If he looks to his own strengths, shares some cool things about his field and shows interest in her that might already be enough.

My random guess would be that he is trying to date in some recommended way and it isn't what actually works.

No because he´s nerdy and because he might not have a big circle of friends he´s considered boring.
It´s the problem of guys that spend much time for their work but instead are interested in a narrow subject that many women don´t share.

well, for one thing, he is needy as you say women do not want that at all.

but for any man to get woman to notice him and like him he has to have charm and have social skills and be self-aware too.

those things along with his career and job will help him and any man that wants a woman.
