Why don't guys like to have female friends?

I like this guy and I want to be friends with him (he's gay) bc I like his personality , I always text first and he always replies but he never texts me first , I guess he doesn't want to be friends? I enjoy chatting with him

Not all women are like this, but MANY, perhaps MOST women tend to bring drama into a male "friend's" life, and also tends to want lots of attention and lots of favors. To put it another way, a lot of girls go to their guy friends to get "boyfriend/husband" benefits (household, car, computer repairs/support, heavy labor, moving, rides to the airport, money loans for endless emergencies, etc.) without providing much of anything in return. They can be VERY needy.

You may not be that way yourself, but chances are at least 4 of the last 5 women he's been "friends" with have been this way. And being gay, he isn't interested in you sexually, so he's got little motivation to be "friends" with you given that he assumes that the cost-to-benefit ratio is likely to be very, very high, as is common.

I wouldn't assume that he doesn't want to be your friend because he doesn't text first.

But to answer your question; a lot of guys don't like to be women's friends because you're basically signing up for all the drama of a girlfriend without any of the intimacy (physical or otherwise).

I don't have anything against female friendships, but even I have had many female friends sabotage and control my relationships and friendships with other women as well. There have been times when being friends with a woman has caused me more trouble than benefit.

i have gay friends too but they're mostly the feminine ones , and they text first and i text first so we don't have this problem of who texts first
