Is it a good to be a tall, cute, fit, 31 guy, attractive personality, a good high paying job, a virgin by choice, who’s now open to dating & hookups?

The title says it all. He’s had 1 girlfriend. He stayed a virgin for his own reasons. There were plenty of attractive girls that liked him and wanted to hook up. He chose not to do it because he wasn’t really into them. He was focused on other things, then built his career. He’s now in a good financial career spot. Everything’s on his terms.

Dude sounds like he got some insecurities issues, or needs to learn how to manage his priorities, or more like maybe he's gay?

I mean 31 virgin, its already a red flag... if he's not gay then he's got something going on... but by 31 still single never dating... he's got some issues I would think.

Even Christians that want preach the virtues of virginity... they aren't anti- marriage or dating.

I mean at some point you get to an age were in happens or just doesn't. From 18 to 25 the virgin thing works for you, from 25 to 29 it starts the get awkard and difficult, by 30 plus... well its a red flag for most people especially if they haven't ever been in a serious relationship by 31... I mean if haven't ever had and adult relationship with a women by 31, then your pretty emotionally immature when it comes to dating. Turn off I would think.

So my Aunts is a old maid, 60 plus never had sex. Yup was raised in old school traditional Catholic family. So lots of negative influences placed on sex. She dated a few guys when she was young, but they would press for sex and she'd break it off. Got her feelings hurt about it and just gave up on men. Started isolating herself, believing men only wanted one thing.

But in all honesty she had serious insecurity issues and body image issues... and she just never truly trusted any man so she had commitment issues. Feeling sexual was something that she believed was sin and shameful. I know I lived with her for 12 years in the same house.

Life’s too short. I have about 8 years until I need to settle down. I thought that in my 20’s too. But looking back, I should have done it. Haha oh well, I know what liked and regretted in my 20’s I can have a whole do over in early 30’s. That’s why I’m open to hooking up, not just dating. And live life with no regrets.

But if I find the right person, I will definitely wait it out to see how it goes.

A guy who's open to hookups is never a good thing... especially if said guy is over 30 and should be smarter than that. To me that is the only red flag but a major one. Virginity, career, attractiveness etc are secondary, he needs to have his head straight.

@Truthatanycost a lot of girls think this way, but I'd say many of them still wouldn't want a guy who does hookups. You learn the most through having a long term partner with whom you work through those issues. There is of course the topic of sexual compatibility but in my experience (though it's not vast), knowing how to make love to one person doesn't necessarily mean you will know with someone new... because people are very different. So the importance of "experience" is really exaggerated. For guys the biggest things to work on are endurance and confidence. The rest will fall into place if partners genuinely care for each other and want to make the other person happy. Any guy or girl who would reject someone because of virginity is probably not worth their time and emotions... unless their virgin status is just a result of some other problems like inability to form close bonds with people etc.

Interesting view. When you said 'knowing how to make love to one person doesn't necessarily mean you will know with someone new..' reminded me of a woman I knew that used to hook up a lot. She said she hooked up with a guy that had been with over 30 women and she said the experience was terrible.

I think if the guy in this MyTake met a compatible woman, it wouldn't matter about the rest because they would just learn and grow together. I think there is a scarcity mindset where he doesn't believe he will find this.

The endurance and confidence is a good point. A lot of the complaints I've seen from women on this site are mostly about endurance.

You live once. And this is the prefect time to do it if you haven’t already. Plus you do need experience. You should have fun. You earned it. Now if I was hooking up all through my 20’s and wasn’t interested in settling down even at 31, that might be a problem

Nobody guesses I’m a virigin. I don’t tell people I’m still a virgin. Girls assume I’m talking to a lot of girls or I’m a good boyfriend. I won’t tell them. I’m going to lose it in hookup.
