I think my boyfriend likes his girl friend?

So my boyfriend has this girl friend with a few years I think. They’ve gotten closer recently and he’s brought her up a couple of times. He’s texted her while with me and has told me some messages and has offered to show me messages if I was feeling jealous ( I wasn’t at the time so I said no). He says they’re friends but they text a lot and confide in each other.

He’s recently told me how unattractive he find her, he rated her a 2 out of 10 and said she’s basically ugly. I find it strange he’s insulting her but also they’re friends? It’s like he’s trying to convince me or himself he doesn’t like her? Or maybe I’m being paranoid lol. Anyway He’s showed me pics of her and she’s not the best looking but I’m still feeling jealous.

Texting her while hanging out with you is rude in my opinion. But, other than that, it doesn’t sound like there’s anything to worry about. He just has a female friend and he’s willing to give you reassurance by showing you the messages and affirming that he’s only attracted to you.
