Am I the asshole?

My boyfriend likes to play loud shows and stay up past 10:30 making all kinds of noise. He then gets up at 5 am waking me up in the process and I can never get back to sleep afterwards. Am I the asshole for asking him to watch something less noisy and/or bright after 10 pm? I also ask that we just start to relax and all he wants to do is talk about random shit I have no interest in. Tonight he also said I had an attitude with him the entire time because I had asked him multiple times to take the dog out (it was his turn) and he wasn’t doing it. The dog was whining constantly. Am I thyme problem? Please be honest

No I feel as though you’re right on this. Based on what you said obviously as I don’t know the whole story. I stay up late myself, so I will entertain myself in the living room whether it’s watching a movie or YouTube or something else. I don’t see why he can’t take the dog out if he is going to stay up late. I will sleep for about 2-3 hours then wake up around 5-6 am. But I walk out of the room quietly if I happen to go back to our bedroom.

When people ask if they are the asshole it usually ends up that they are. However, in your case I think your boyfriend is very inconsiderate.

No you can always turn the TV down even though 10 o’clock is super early to go to bed when I was a teen I never went to bed that early and I had to be up at 6 o’clock in the morning
