How do I know if a man is really into me and not trying to take advantage?

I met this guy 7 years ago but never really talked at our job so I reached out and since then we message all day for a whole week. We met on Saturday to watch a movie and eat. We made each other laugh and we both talked a lot and wanted to know each other more. He compliments my face and also about how sweet and funny I am. He was little more nervous than me but I felt more comfortable around him after. We spent the whole day at the mall outside after eating and we stayed talking. He then grabbed my hand and was caressing itches later he asked if he can kiss me and I said yes so we kissed/made out. While kissing he had his hands on my face he didn't touch me inappropriate so I liked that. He also walked me to my car and we kissed and said bye. He has been texting me still. So is he genuinely interested im so afraid of getting hurt

He sounds like a decent guy who is genuinely into you. He spent a whole day with you talking, getting to know each other and later when you both kissed He didn't try anything. These are strong signs that he genuinely likes you.
