If you were dating a man for a long time but found something about his past would you break up with him?

Say you are in a long term relationship and you recently heard of his dark past that he raped a woman. How would you perceive this? I'm not asking this from past but just wanting to know how far you can push a woman's progressive liberal brain to accept the fact that somethings are wrong but worth to brush under the table for the sake of "Love".

I think there are certain things a woman may look past but I don't know about rape. Depends on the story if the situation
