No. At least in my case, my only two choices were - be with an immature guy that couldn’t decide between me and another prettier girl (who didn’t want him and who I’m related to through my brothers marriage) or be with a extremely effeminate man who was not only very socially awkward and weird (wouldn’t knock or say hello- had poor conversation skills in person). Then he asked if it was too late for him to ask me out on a date. I said yes. Anyway, he couldn’t take no for an answer and tried to guilt trip me by saying “sorry for not being a perfect friend to you. Hopefully you can find more perfect friends than me.” He was just so weird. That was when I was 25. Haven’t been asked out or pursued at all since. It’s been almost 2 years now. I guess I’m on a dry streak but feeling sad and lonely. Is it somewhat my choice? Yes. Because I guess I would rather be single than be with a loser that is a player or a guy that I’m repulsed by.

Nope. Desparate guys are single because they feel like they have to be. That whole idea is male victim, and it's not a sexy look. It's what women call girls who will date anyone, called 'Pick-me's.
