Girls, Does break mean that you just wanna see other people? Or go through a phrase? I partially understand but why wouldn't she just tell me?

It could mean a number of things but it usually doesn't mean seeing other people. A break is something that you take in a relationship for legit reasons. Break means that there is the intention of resuming a normal relationship. At least that is what it means to me. Breaking up means it is over.

Why not just ask her and communicate? That is something that shouldn't be out of the question. Acknowledge that you respect that decision but would like to know what that means for the both of you.

She should be respectful and tell you if there is any chance of resuming your relationship. It is a fair thing to ask. Has she said why she wants the break? Sometimes that is best to step back and look at everything so that you can work on things and make the overall relationship stronger.

There are other instances were something terrible has happened... family tragedy and she needs time to just deal with that sort of thing. There is nothing wrong when taking a break for the right reasons. Seeing other people wouldn't be one to me personally.

I mean... maybe. I feel like others have different definitions of 'breaks'. To me, a break is wanting to space to miss the other person. I like my space usually and can feel suffocated in relationships, so if I need a break, to me its just me wanting a week or two to myself, and if I end up missing the person, then to me thats a good sign. If after a week or two I dont miss them, then there may be a bigger problem.
