Depends if she does stuff like that all that time. If it’s just once and she apologized I would be fine. I also would set a rule to all, no eating/drinking in my car.
I have such rule with my kids.

just to understand, my sister just gave birth in May. Her water broke while riding a taxi to the hospital. Of course she paid for it after.

We are human, things happen … people may throw up in your car/your bed one day…

period stain in the bedsheet… etc… it’s just life.

You go to a professional valet instead.

Also, there is no such thing as a permanent stain on most commercial upholstery fabric. They are manufactured to last, as people will be spilling and grinding all sorts of shit into them. Hence they tend to use robust coatings. Stain removers can be pricey in some fabrics.

Also, American made car shit is probably not worth much. So you can probably buy scrapped seats for a few bucks, rather than pay to get them professionally cleaned.

But anyway, you're after opinions on relationship, not the facts of the matter. The relationship would be strained if the party refused fault or to clean or pay.

It's likely someone who acts nonchalant about a spill that severe just doesn't respect other people's property and that's a disgusting quality.

Probably not. You’d have to deliberately disrespect my wishes hard to stain my car because i’m very careful about what i put in my car and where i put it.
But nothing is permanent. Upholstery and carpet can be replaced. How hard does she try to fix it? If she’s like, “Oh well!”, we’re done, and I might even take her to court over it. Ell oh ell!

I'd certainly be upset at first, but my car has waterproof seats, and waterproof floor mats. I also used to detail cars for a living, so I'm pretty sure I'd be able to get it all up, myself.

All figured, there probably wouldn't be any lasting damage, so after everything was cleaned up, you likely wouldn't be able to tell, and I'd forgive her.

It's a piece of machinery. It has upholstery that could ultimately be replaced if you're that crazy about it. What are you going to do - hold it against them for life and break up? If you did, I'd be glad for your partner because they dodge a bullet.

I drive a beat up old truck. I don't drive new cars because I don't want to be worried about them getting fucked up. I used to have a sweet 73 Blazer and some asswipe fucked up the side of it and the paint was new. Then I rolled it.
