How do you politely say no to an invite you don’t want to go to? Or someone asks you out and you don’t feel like going?

I've run into this before. I reminded the girl that I live really far away, and would not be able to logistically make it.
This girl was repulsive physically, disabled as heck, couldn't hold a job, lived in another country, had no concept of respect for boundaries, and was clingy as hell.
After telling her I enjoyed occasional coop in Far Cry, but didn't view her as girlfriend material, she still kept pressing on to try to make a relationship happen.
When she realized I wasn't dropping everything and moving to Canada just for her sake, she developed an unhealthy obsession with a female cashier at Tim Hortons. She was jealous that the cashier rejected her in exchange for said cashier's preexisting boyfriend. The cashier wasn't a lesbo, and wanted to be left alone.
This girl in Canada wouldn't take no for an answer, and started trying to desperately text me on a regular basis in a futile attempt to recruit me into her scheme to get revenge on the cashier that rejected her.
I told her that the plan wouldn't work, advised her on better ideas, warned her of the illegality of her stunt, stated I wouldn't be part of it, pointed out yet again that I would need a far better reason than that before I would even think of leaving Florida to vacation in Canada, and also mentioned that I don't have the funds for such travel at the moment!
But she persisted in trying to pester me to join in her dubious plan anyway, unable to take no for an answer. Had to block her a few times, because she just wouldn't give up!
if they are someone I know, therefore they know me... I just say "no thanks, not feeling it..." lol
I've never been one to make excuses lmao... however, I am always up to go out with them and actually enjoy it, even if I am not 100% interested on the plan, I am still going and have a great time somehow
but if I am 100% sure I don't like the idea, then I'll just say that's a nope for me... lol
and they're used to that from me... lol
you can't be blunt especially if it's someone you don't know well since you'll most probably see them again. That's part of politeness theory. So you could say I'm sorry I would love to come but I can't, I have... excuse... I'll see you another time.
Honesty is the best policy, people get weird if you say 'I'll see if I can'. I have had a few invites to weddings etc and they get weird when you don't go when you specifically made it clear it was a maybe.
LIE. I have a doc appt. I have a meeting. I already made plans with someone else. I have a cold. I have school work. I have a work project. Im going out of town. Or just say no
I just say going somewhere makes me uncomfortable and they'll just respect it. No is no. It's that or leaving as soon as I can, like I'll come but I have to be somewhere else at [insert convenient time here]
I usually don't have a problem telling someone I don't want to go somewhere, but there have been a few times where I lied about feeling under the weather. 😂
liarrrr! i knew it :P
jk
I don’t try to be polite. I just say “no” regularly. I might add that I’m not interested or I have something else to do. They take it whatever way they want.
“Sorry I don’t think I feel the same way. I don’t want to waste your time on me. “
I agree with not giving him false hope. Because I have been lead on like that. I thought that person is just busy, and kept trying to ask him out, but really he’s just not interested. And I was literally liking him for like half a year with false hope
I honestly have no balls to say no flat out so instead I lie and say I have something planned already.
Depends who asks, mostly I don't say directly 'no' but a little lie like "I have no time..."
Honesty is for most people a weakness
I will say we have other plans. Then we make them even if it’s plans to stay home 😂😂
well that depends on whether i never wanna go out with them or if i "just now" don't want to but maybe later i do. which is the case in your scenario?
I just say no thanks. There isn't a polite way of doing so.
It's not that complicated. Mature adults should be able to say "no" to something.
I'll just say "nah, I don't want to go"
It's easy or I'll say I'm tired, which is always true
I am very sorry but I have prior engagements, I can not com
Just lie it’s not that hard lying is Just like Breathing.
In cases like these.
Sometimes we change our minds on things or we get Scared or whatever people get and They lie to avoid Being Criticized or being called the bad Guy.
I think it's best to just be honest, so you don't give them false hope
If I get invited somewhere, I'll probably be able to answer this.
"Thanks for staying at my crib. now get the fuck out."
lol. how my one friend used to do it to me and my other friends ^
I made plans with a friend an I dont feel a bit of chemistry with you so it's not you just I have to feel a bit of a spark
I just say no thanks, I've got a lot on the go and I'm full up. Feel free to text me though
Tell them you've had busy days or day and just want some time to yourself
You say "No thank you; but thank you for the invite"
I'm gay? I need to wash my hair 😂 er let's just be friends 🙄 time is like an onion for me the layers are running thin 😘
I’ll be honest. Respectfully as possible.
I’d make up an excuse
I just say no, thanks 😂
And if they ask why, I do answer honestly and then they're pissed but oh well
yeah... nah... not this month.
Just tell them I have to go for my PCR test
"I'm sorry, I'd rather not go."
Honesty “I’m just not interested”
Tell them in Spanish. Lime this no.
I would come with excuses 😅 I do it pretty often
I tell them the truth.. novel concept I know 🙄
"I'm not in the mood."
Sorry i already have plans that day...
just say you have diarrhea 🤣
Nah I'm good
