Depends on past experiences an personality traits more so then just gender. Someone who was cheated on in a previous relationship, regardless of female or male, will subconsciously have fear that what if it happens again, especially if the trauma hasn't been dealt with.

An obsessive personality type will be more paranoid with the 'unknown' than someone who's more 'relaxed' or self-assured. Someone with low self-esteem will worry so much more than someone who's confident in themselves. This goes for men and women
