I can cook, I'm a great cook actually I started cooking at age 6 and I would watch my mom and help her cook and she is a great cook so thanks to her I can cook!.

So burning water is when you leave a pot of water on the stove until it evaporates and you're just left with a burned pot and I hear women who can't cook say "I can't cook, I burn water". I asked this question to see how many men can cook and to see if men would be with women who can't cook, so now I know, thanks guys💘!.

My first girlfriend was a liability in the kitchen. We were both 19. I'm a creative cook. I like to experiment with food but with her it was terrible.

A few examples:

She blew up four eggs. Literally. Put them on to boil to make egg mayo sandwiches and let the pan boil dry. It took three days to get the egg shrapnel off the ceiling and two weeks to get the smell out.

She begged me to let her help make a dinner we were hosting. I asked her to take the cabbage out of the fridge and put it into a pot of boiling water to wilt the leaves so they could wrap up the meatballs. I never imagined she couldn't tell the difference between a cabbage and a lettuce. 🤦

She boiled a piece of fillet steak.

She flash-fried brisket.

She put a dirty pot into the cupboard without washing it. By the time we needed to use it again I had to use a screwdriver to get the lid off because of the mould growth inside (I threw it away and bought a new pot)

As far as you can at 19 I did love her - just not for her cooking!

I think knowing how to cook is absolutely great, because like someone on here was saying cooking is a survival skill and If you don't like being single and decide to get into a relationship cooking will be a way to get into your partners heart and bed 😳😂 but yeah knowing how to cook is a very great think many people should invest into learning that skill.

And for all the people who want to have kids or who have kids your babies will thank you for it and eat all your veggies if they taste great and then you can brag to your friends that your babies love broccoli and brussels sprouts and spinach😂.

I know a couple where the husband does all the cooking... the wife doesn't burn water but doesn't cook to the level that the husband expects. They're happily married and have two children. If there are other good things about a relationship, a guy can live with a woman who can't cook... he can cook, or they can always eat out.

I have always cooked. It’s not that she can’t cook, I’m just better at it. I don’t think it matters much as long as someone can cook. Everyone should have some basic skills though. Eating out is not as good, not as healthy and much more expensive.

Only if she was willing to learn. I refuse to be the only person in the relationship that can cook. I've been cooking since I was 8, mostly because with my mom's cooking you stood a 50/50 chance of getting killed by it. My grandfather taught me.

My wife when we first met, could cook, but only very basic things. Now she's almost a s good as me, but that's because I have her help me all the time when I'm cooking.

Personally, I don't care, I can cook. I learned from my mom. I learned how to make Italian food (different dishes) where other people were like, wow, this is good! I know what type of meat to buy, what type of fruits or vegetables to get, what is the best cheese on the market. The only thing I don't cook are sweets, i've never been that big on sweets.

No, I wouldn't. I cook a lot myself and am pretty good at it. I enjoy cooking and eating good food. I just couldn't be in a relationship with a woman I couldn't share that with. And I'm sure there are those who will say it's sexist but to me cooking is a way a woman should show her love for her man and family. I think its sad that so many women have turned their backs on it.

Im married to one. Honestly its a sore spot for me. Work all day, come home and wife and kids are like "whats for dinner" but when she cooks she caught the stove on fire three times. She has zero multitask ability.

I'm terrible with multitasking, but I've been adapting round it by zeroing in on recipes that are simple to prepare and cook. Veggies all chopped before introducing any heat to anything; typically a maximum of two pots/pans for cooking, sometimes literally just a one pot; simple classic ingredients that don't take any special culinary skills to work with. Inability to multitask doesn't have to be a barrier to cooking, she just needs to pick out a dozen or so recipes that can be "single-tasked"
