Should I go on a date with this man or not?

I'm a bar tender at the local pub in a very small village. I get asked out a lot but I know these men and I've seen them at there worse so I always reject them.

There's a all girls boarding school just down the road and some of teachers have a drink in the pub every couple Fridays and stuff.

There's been a new teacher who recently started about 3 months ago I think. He's very friendly and all the students and staff seem to really like him.

He's young, good looking and we'll educated too and I have abit of a crush on him. He always comes to bar to talk to me and he's very charming and nice.

We've become really good friends over the three months and he asked me out the other day and told me he thinks I'm lovely and would really like to get to know me away from the pub.

Im a bar tender with a working class background with no education I asked him what he would want with a girl like me and surely he would want a girl who was similar to him. He told me I was being mean to myself and that he likes me for who I am.

I said I'd think on it as It my rule not to date punter's but when you live in a village as small as mine all punter's is basically everyone who lives in the village.

There's just one thing that really worries but he says it's all okay now. He had a 16 year old student who had a crush on him lie but he got her pregnant at his last school and that's why he had to leave. Turns out this girl wasn't even pregnant but she still stalks him time to time and the police won't do anything

Well going with a 16 years old raises some eyebrows already, and even getting her pregnant as if he doesn't know the basics of contraceptives, especially given the risk of the situation because of the age of the girl, well... It doesn't matter it turned out she wasn't pregnant, if he believed that it means he did have sex with a 16 years old, and, without condom. If he did that with her, with how many other women he does the same? What about respecting the next partners by wearing a condom for example, instead of exposing them to STDs? But the issue is anyway the lack of any sense of responsibility in doing that with a 16yo who could indeed get pregnant, not just STDs.
This would be for me quite a red flag, not necessarily a total deal breaker but very close to it.
Now if she is stalking him, well, consider anyway her age. At 16 she might not have herself together of course and might be very messy about elaborating rejection or any sort of failure with guys. It doesn't mean she is crazy by default (until she isn't doing something really extreme), it could just mean she is taken to this version of herself due to private situations they have. On the other side it's also his responsibility to turn her down properly because he had sex with her and if she sticks around because can't see things for what they are, then he should explain her better and more firmly. If he did already and didn't just ghost her for the most, then he must insist with the police if she is doing crazy things, yeah.
In any case I get some ladies'man vibes here. I think you could play a bit harder to get so that he really really puts more effort and proves how serious he is about you, and in the meanwhile you can calmly observe what happens with that young girl instead, or if he gets other partners.
