Someone tells her lies and she believes it. What to do?

So I have been friends with my crush for almost a month and a half and everything until this morning was going fine. But someone told a lie (or it is just a misunderstanding) to her friend who told her that I'm telling people that I am dating her. I have NEVER told anyone this, and everyone who knows I like her and asks if we are together, I always deny it. And no, we are not really dating.

I told her it was a lie, but on one hand she believes it, but on the other she doesn't. We are still friends, but I am afraid that this could ruin things.

What should I do? I'm anxious and right now there is no way to prove that I didn't do it.

Some people (myself included) act like we believe the lie because we don’t care enough about the person saying the lie and it shows how little respect they have for you lying to your face and thinking you are stupid enough to believe it.

Jus relax. If you say you didn't then you didn't. Eventually she will realize who is lying and there is no point is worrying or stressing about it.
