What is your reaction when you find out someone lied to you?

It seems lying to someone comes so easy to people anymore. People look you right in your eyes and lie and even try to sound so convincing so you will believe them.
I am from the old school on this on. If you lie to me once, shame on you. If you lie to me twice, shame on me. It breaks any trust I had for the person.

It can be any kind of lie that had a bad effect on you. Not a white lie, but one that is substantial.

Lying is like losing your virginity.

Once you lose your virginity, there is nothing in the world, and no amout of money, that can restore you to being a virgin.

If you have never lied to me and I get to know you, I will trust you completely. However, once you lie to me once, I will NEVER AGAIN trust you completely.

The politicians have us so calloused to half truths and flat out lies. That maybe lies are not as terrible as they once were!

But I am from the same time period as you. Where your word and a handshake was more binding than a signed contract!

I have the same attitude as you. I'll never trust the person again.

If the lie was hurtful or malicious, I'd cease associating with that person.

There are some lies that I could probably live with if I came to understand the reason.

I usually know when people are lying and it just reinforces my opinion that most people are lying scumbags

To my knowledge I can't think of anyone who has substantially lied to me so I don't know. Probably cut them out
