Long story short, I had to leave my long distance ex boyfriend because he became extremely controlling and paranoid. He would freak out if I told him I wanted to go to the gym, or to my master's degree celebration, and ban it. He started getting crazy about the clothes I was wearing (even though they weren't revealing). His paranoia also escalated and he was accusing me of cheating every day even if I was loyal. He would unleash all those bad thoughts on me, even when I was having a good day with my friend. I had to leave because it was making me suffer, I was having mental breakdowns.
After leaving, he very soon told me he found a girl who was very loving and respectful and that we didn't need to control her. However, the few times we talked he was very very drunk. He rubbed this new girl in my face, saying how good she was and how bad I was for not being able to love him. However, he says that but still wants to talk to me on the phone for hours. He told me he wanted to fix our relationship and try again since the breakup didn't sit right. I told him I could try to work on it as long as I saw real changes in him.
However, I realised that everytime I was calling him to solve our problems he was either drunk, or in a rush to go somewhere. I felt I was the only one putting in the effort. Then, he started ignoring my angry messages about how I'm the only one trying to make this work. The fact he ignored me angered me. I texted, texted and texted until I said to myself that I should stop. I started just ignoring back.
After a day or two not reacting to how he was ignoring me, he sent me a message saying "I'm typing a message to end this, but I cannot force myself to send it, I don't know why". As a response to that, I told him our relationship ended a month ago when l left him, he didn't have to send any new message about it, and that for me it completely ended when he started ignoring my messages. Didn't hear from him ever since. What was his aim though?
