Does it make sense not to travel super far for someone you aren't quite sure about?

I would've had to go from NJ to OR and I guess spend like a week in a hotel and then spend days with this woman there... but I wasn't really quite sure about her... like on the fence really... and then what happens after this? I don't know... And she was too impatient with me... like I said I would come and I felt pressured about it. So just kind of cold stopped talking 2 months ago now.

Is she wanting you to take off work and spend your own money to get there, stay there a week, and take her out a few times?
Or were you already going that way and she just wants you to visit with her most of the time?

Her pushing you to lose money, (taking off work) and at the same time spend money, (by insisting you go see her) so that you can take her out.. Screams GOLD DIGGER
Her not telling you the right state she even wants you to go to /or needing to decide or figure out where she'll be.. Screams SET UP

I would travel within the Eastern U. S. to meet someone that I was interested in. But we would have to have been talking for a while and built up a rapport.
Midwest? Bit of a stretch but I might still do it. I guess I'd go to the Mississippi River, at least.
Anything west of, like, Kansas City would require more of a commitment. I would have to be REALLY serious about them. Or, I could just combine it with a vacation. But if you're that far away, you would have to understand that it takes more planning and you might have to wait a bit longer (because of plane ticket prices.)

So, New York? Atlanta? Cincinnati?
I could visit you within like a month (with the clock starting AFTER the point where I feel comfortable doing so.)
Phoenix? Denver? San Francisco? It would be more like 6 to 9 months, maybe a year.
