Is it wise to travel a long distance to see a guy you barely know?

I met this guy a while ago and we kept in touch by sending a random message to each other through Facebook. I met him in a bar and we talked for maybe 30 minutes before he had to head out. Anyway, randomly the other day I asked him where he was living and he told me in a city about 2 hours away by train then said I should come visit him sometime. He is really cute but I barely know him and we have had next to no contact since we met. Is it a good idea to go visit him or should I instead invite him to visit me?

I would ask him to meet up with ya somewhere in the middle... and take a friend like as said before. Maybe see if there is a Diner or coffee shop or who knows... anyway, I always get creeped out bout stuff like this, but you met him, you know yourself, I would trust your gut... If you're having doubts then maybe it's a risk~ you are the one to decide if it is a risk you may or may not be willing to make.

"meet somewhere in the middle" good idea: unkown terrain for both (but let it be a town, a mall or so)

if I were you I would bring a friend and visit him..he may b a psycho you never kno and if you show him where you live.. you may never get rid of him or worse..i would go to him till I got to kno him

I wouldn't have to take him to my place... we could just go out and if I feel comfortable with him I could invite him to see my place.

Yeah.. I wouldn't that's just me tho..there are a lot of psychos out there girl..u never kno you can feel comfortable with someone but they turn out to be the complete opposite person..listen to your instincts and intuiton

2 hours by train = 100 max 150 Mi, not that far away thus.

Its feasible (you're ocer 18), IF you take a few precautions like this: link and knowing where to sleep if you miss your return train (check if there's a bus, maybe an YWCA link or other hostel)

Start talking to him on the phone a lot before you visit. Also chat with him online. It is easy to know who he is before you visit his city.
