ok so i’ve been texting this guy for months and he’s super great and super respectful of my boundaries. he keeps complimenting me and even has cute nicknames for me. he treats my like his girlfriend but the only thing is that he lives super far away in a completely different state.

i guess what im trying to ask is would he ever want to start a long distance relationship?

i feel like he might not cause what’s the point but I don't know i need some perspective.

Well from my experience I loved this one girl I met online so much that the distance we had between us literally didn't affect the commitment and love we have for eachother, and she loved and stayed committed to me thus She's now been my girlfriend for 3 years now. It's not impossible if neither one gives up on eachother.

But the best thing you can do is communicate with him about it and see eachother in person when you are able to

Some do and some don't. If you're only a state away from each other, then it could possibly work. You would both have to be willing to put in the effort to see each other to make it work and eventually aim to close the distance. I would talk to him about it and see if that's something he would be interested in. Long distance is not for the faint of heart.

I've been in LDRs when I deployed and was with someone, but there was still a rough end date of when I'd be no longer LD. Would I do one with someone who was just LD indefinitely? No way. There's no cause to. There's nothing she brings to the table that dozens of other women can't as well who are closer.

Some will never do it and others would be more than willing to try. Long distance is not going to be easy and if you do it you better figure out all the major things upfront and figure out each other's time lines before one of you move or who will move if it works. I think the fact that he has nicknames for you already treats you like a girlfriend you probably have a shot with him willing to do it.

Maybe. Just know that ldr have a shelf life. At some point in the near future one person has to move closer in the near future or it won't last. What's the point of starting it if there's no real future. Low-key ldr that get dragged out just means y'all are just pretending and too scared for something more real or you'd find someone closer.
