Is it ok to travel elsewhere to meet a special, unique person?

I'm thinking of going elsewhere and meet someone that has a different culture. I'm tired of my own kind, the hooking-up, oversexualized culture, gender wars and pessimism views on relationships.

I'm going my own way elsewhere and will not come back for some time. I'm not sure if others are doing that too? I want someone else that hasn't been tainted just like I haven't.

I feel the longer I stay here, the longer I'm not going to find anyone that wants something serious and isn't fearful nor has negatives views... someone normal.

I've done my research. It's in France. I speak advanced French and I've heard the men are different there than here.

Please consider a visit first. Researching another country online can be so different than actually visiting and getting a feel of the environment, especially if you are uprooting your life to move. Just a cautionary piece of advice from one woman to another, we have to be careful out there.
