Can't, I'm not comfortable dealing with immigration laws as a barrier to keeping her long term. If nationalism died out, I'd do that in a heartbeat, but the idea of my wife getting deported is too high a stressor. Otherwise I'd have found hundreds of matches already.

Yes, and it has lots of legal red tape that you have to forever incorporate into your life, and I'm not willing to do that.

I like the fact that I can retire young, that I don't have to be sponsored, that I'm not dependent on keeping a job or marrying or renewing some sort of high stipulation citizenship card in order to continue to existing in a specific location, and that I can't get deported because of changes in immigration laws no matter what. And I don't want the stress of a wife being tied to all that nonsense either.

Everytime a new president gets "elected", there is debate over immigration vs anti-immigration, half the country is obsessed with it. Whats law today might not be law in a few years, someone born here is immune to that retarded rollercoaster of law changes.
