I'm weary of these terms since they don't really mean anything. "Traditional" as a definition relies on everyone sharing the same understanding of which 'traditions' exactly are being embodied. And "Modern" is a redundant term because anyone who exists in the modern day is "modern" by definition. There are surely more precise terms we could use if the goal is to separate women into distinct sociological groups.
Wowww , there is a pretty big GREY area in the middle , thats for sure , I like both , but I will take the business woman , that you are calling " modern " .
It's not about the image. And there is no gray area. Just below the title I also say what do you consider modern/traditional, discuss below. This way we see your modern might be different from mine or that guy over there's definition of modern woman.
A mix of both. Traditional women are great because they can cook and they don't necessarily try to kill you in your sleep. Modern women are good because they work and make money although they very well might try to kill you in your sleep. Both types of women will take you for everything you've got if you wind up divorcing them including your children your money all of your property everything you've worked for and your reputation. Don't get married!
I'm a traditional man who wants a traditional woman. Modern women want to have the option for men to be traditional or modern depending on when it's convenient for them. This is why no women modern nor traditional would also choose a modern man generally speaking because they always have the option to leave with another simp.
@molonski2 I think some are, a lot aren't these day. I see more then most working in healthcare and hear even more about peoples lives and activities. These days it is a lot of we eat out 3 times a day and we do our own thing on the computer and or phones.
If a man wants me to be a housewife, he better provide the career aspect then and fulfill it properly so we aren't counting coins. Goes both ways, traditional 1940s couples, men worked very hard to accomodate for the wife being a housewife.
@Kaytiee well being a housewife doesn't mean that you're rich, maids around you in a mansion or picking a different car daily to go shop... etc This ain't the orange county housewives series! A true housewife is a devoted housewife, you woll adapt to what your man is earning, ofc as long as he's providing for the basics, such as bills, food and shelter...
Where did you get the memo about maids? As you're far off. If you want a traditional woman, that stays in the house all day, raising children, cooking, cleaning etc you need to provide money to accomodate for that, as it's not cheap to have one sole bread winner, and also except delicious home cooked meals.
So many men bang on about traditional women, but forget what a traditional man had to put on the plate! No ones asking for luxuries but a housewife can't cook if she can't afford ingredients, nor will she want to be one if she's stuck in the house 24/7 no family trips, no appreciation towards her effort into the family.
@Kaytiee well i agree with that... If you read what i wrote that you would of understand that i'm aware of all this! Rewards for the wife and for the husband too and for the whole family... Ofc the man won't leave his wife hungry or naked or without a shelter! He will treat you the way he treat himself! Giving you the option to be a housewife is a big gift from a man towards his wife and i'm someone who see a housewife role for a woman as a norm, i don't mind working hard to provide for my future family, already did it and still doing it but without a wife cause i'm a single father...
Can you even have traditional people in today's world? Haven't we evolved from that? Isn't it better both work so you can make a $hit load of money and both retire earlier?
Traditional forced to be modern because that's what men from my country want. No one wants a housewife. They all prefer women who can help financially.
What country are you from? Why do they want their women to work, i can understand that some want their women to work and some not but to have all your guys there wanting the woman to work means that you don't really have men, maybe just males!
Lmfao you'd be surprised how many men actually want a traditional woman. The marriage rates as well as more people staying single has a strong correlation with feminism stripping western societies from traditional women. So you're wrong. Men DO want traditional women.
@babygirl_s i thought that people from india are traditional, i know that a lot of indie women works but drill have morals and values and have high importance for the families... Maybe indi men wants women to work because of their economics cause maybe they aren't capable to live only on one income, you know better...
@babygirl_s Is that so? Then how come with increasing feminism in India, especially in the cities, we see a decline in marriages? So far, I'm having a hard time finding a source that actually discusses that Indian men want modern women. Whereas I'm seeing sources that argue the exact opposite.
They want a beautiful, virgin and highly educated woman who can earn. She should be fluent in English (considered modern here) and traditional in that she should stay a virgin until marriage and be able to cook. Housewives are not in demand. I live around Indian men. I know them better than you. Also, Indian feminism is about demanding equality which Indian women don't have unlike Western women. Acid attacks, rapes and in general crimes against women are rising.
@babygirl_s Traditional doesn't necessarily mean being a housewife. It often means having traditional values that are assigned to gender roles. So in other words, (Indian) men don't want to bother themselves with feminists who are all about "equality" and modernity in relationships.
Also, the men you're exposed to aren't necessarily the representatives of dozens of other Indian men. I speak and have spoken to many Indian men over many years in university, work and even private to know that these men don't want some woke feminist but rather a woman with traditional values. So sorry sweetie, but I'm more informed about what Indian men truly want than you think.
Actually Indian men want someone who can cook and work that's all. Affluent and urban Indian men don't expect you to clean the house as they employ servants for that. It is the rural Indians you're talking to since most immigrants from India have such a background. The ones living in cities usually don't leave the country. A traditional woman according to an Indian man is someone who doesn't drink alcohol, doesn't smoke, is a virgin and can cook. It is more about her morals than gender roles over here. The alcoholic women who sleep around in the Western countries but want to cook and clean are not their idea of a "traditional woman".
I believe the whole traditional aspect within modern day of age is it leaves room for women to still work while holding on to the traditional values and gender roles. I believe much of this has to do with economy as it is hard to come by with only a single income. And actually, the ones whom I met COME from cities. Because they pursue professions that allow them to get a good paying job there when they show they have acquired skills in countries like mine. Whereas the ones from rural regions, you see them go to places like the UAE being workhorses for little pay.
You can speculate all you want, but it won't change the fact that Indian men still want women with traditional values in contrast to women who identify as feminists, regardless if they work or stay at home. What matters to these men is that they don't have a FEMINIST breathing down their neck. And that counts for western men as well. The decline in marriage rates speak for themselves.
There is no decline in marriages in India @TruthBringer and many urban men want women to be treated equally. Also, the majority of immigrants do in fact come from rural Punjab. I know how crazy they are about going to other countries. Men want working women. It is a symbol of a higher status. The businessmen, doctors etc. want a woman with a nice career so they don't feel embarrassed. It is not simply about the economy. Being a rural housewife is not considered attractive. And working women who can speak English and wear Western clothes are considered modern not traditional. When they said they wanted traditional women they meant what I have already told you. For a Western guy any Oriental woman who has slept around and drunk litres of alcohol is "traditional" for some reason. That is not the ideal woman for an Indian guy.
I'm pretty sure I know what the guys I've spoken meant and want. they were open for a working partner as long as she has traditional values in her when it comes to taking care of family, taking care of her husband, has no feminist views, etc. Notice how I didn't say anything about clothes? So not sure why you pulled that one out of thin air. I'm also told they don't mind if their wives stay at home if they can manage to support them by themselves. Which is one of the motivators they studied/worked in my country. Being able to do so well that they can allocate enough resources to unburden their woman or family from financial struggles. Basically on par with us western men for the most part. The point is not that they do or don't prefer a working woman who is well educated. That point was never made. The point is that they want a woman who has traditional qualities like I mentioned. So not a feminist with a diploma. Those are undesirable and for good reasons. Rather than a well-educated girl who can get a decent job and still can take care of her man in was of tradition. Even though like I said, they don't mind if they provide for the majority part if not all. That's what they told me. So it all boils down to them wanting a traditional relationship/marriage rather than a modern one.
You can believe what you want, but I'll stick to my own observations and what actual INDIAN men from various places told me. Also, the internet grants access to much information that actually reinforces my point. I much more prefer to hear it from the mouth of the horse (Indian men) than you.
@TruthBringer Indians don't marry in their twenties that doesn't mean they don't want to marry. That is because now people are more serious about their career. I have interacted with more Indians than you because I live in India. Men are embarrassed of housewives or poorly educated women. They leave them.
@babygirl_s You can keep using the "I know more Indians than you do", doesn't mean you actually are accurate in debunking what I said. The stats speak for themselves. The decline is there. And modern feminism is quite known to be cancerous even outside of the west. And Indian men have picked up on that.
I stand by what I said. Indian men prefer a more traditional woman over a modern feminist.
@TruthBringer Most Indian men want a woman who has a good balance of traditional and modern values and people marrying at 30 doesn't mean marriages are declining. Your sources are not reliable. Why don't you experience it yourself? Join an Indian matrimony website as a working woman vs an uneducated and unemployed woman. See which one gets better quality and more matches.
Also the Indian feminists are all about gender equality. India has some very serious issues that concern women like dowry deaths, acid attacks, wife battering etc. If the men you talked to support these then you're talking to the lowest of the low.
That's basically what I've been saying. As long as there is a healthy balance of modern and traditional in a woman, that's what Indian men want. And something you will not find within feminists as they despise anything that is traditional and can serve a man or family. Hence why (Indian) men despise feminists.
Sorry no, feminists being for gender equality is as rare as a unicorn. Feminists all over the globe have proven that they want special privileges over actual equality. These crimes you speak of are exactly what they are, crimes. Nothing legal about throwing acid on someone's face or killing your bride for dowry. So using crimes is as an argument to push the "equality" agenda is a fallacy as you're resorting to a non sequitur through the use of a false equivalence as your premises.
You've not managed to prove that Indian men truly want modern women & modern relationships.

Sure. but vast grey area still remains , maybe five categories would be relevant..
But , good luck to you are your own interpretation of your question , there is no Black / White just many shades of grey , but boxes are easy.
I am very much a traditional woman. My only dream in life was to have a family and to stay at home and take care of the one's I love.
I see your poll us at 67% at this writing. The other is only 33%, so that should tell all of us something.
You have to be rich as fuck to be traditional in this day.
I have a job and i don't plan on not having one any time soon. I expect household work to be equally split.
A mix of both. Traditional women are great because they can cook and they don't necessarily try to kill you in your sleep. There are always modern men available for them but the question is do they even give them any chances?
Traditionally women worked, its always been the case.
Feminazis at their best
Iβm traditional with a pinch of modern and a dash of pizzazz 😏. Because it sounds like pizza 🍕 👍.
Women don't get they can't be feminist bosses and housewives at the same time, one is in their feminine submissive mindset.
The other in masculine. There can't be to leaders only one.
Traditional when it comes to maintaining family unity.
modern when it comes to being active/involve in the community - work.
I am a mix of both, I work, cook, clean, have my own car and home. I handle almost everything and anything at home or work.
Someone like yourself is my point of " Grey " area , I think thats most women a combination of all --
@molonski2 I think some are, a lot aren't these day. I see more then most working in healthcare and hear even more about peoples lives and activities. These days it is a lot of we eat out 3 times a day and we do our own thing on the computer and or phones.
Traditional ofc, i'll only marry a girl who adores becoming a housewife 😌
If a man wants me to be a housewife, he better provide the career aspect then and fulfill it properly so we aren't counting coins. Goes both ways, traditional 1940s couples, men worked very hard to accomodate for the wife being a housewife.

My girlfriend and I are both traditional and we couldn't be any happier. You will never see me with a woman who is not traditional.
Modern. My man is modern to and we both enjoy it this way.
I beat my own drum. Havenβt had complaints.
Can you even have traditional people in today's world? Haven't we evolved from that? Isn't it better both work so you can make a $hit load of money and both retire earlier?
Tradition at home. She can cook, clean, and let me fuck her when ever I ask. Out outside modern. Wear sexy outfits, outgoing, funny.
I'm a modern woman with pretty traditional values.
