Should I text him or leave him alone?

He was my childhood fclasskate and boyfriend. After 15 years we met at a party. He keeps being a really nice respectful guy. I want to keep his friendship but after a 3 dates he stopped talking to me because he was getting jealous of every single thing plus I only wanted friendship. I want to keep a guy like him in my friends list after several bad guys. I have an illness not sure if I will survive or live past 30s lol 😂 it is what it is. Should I text him or not? Last time he got mad because I cancel the last date.
