Are you attracted to the 'bad boy' type and other guys just don't interest you?

I don't know what it exactly that makes me go for the bad boy, but I just do. I still do even in my old age. But the guys are always younger than me as well.
Why do you think you are attracted to the bad boys and does that attraction ever stop?

By bad boy I don't mean someone that is reckless, drinks, always living on the edge, does bad things. I am talking more about how he carries himself, having a football guy frame, looks like you better not mess with him, but he is nice to me and takes good care of me in a protective way. I meant bad boy, not bad ass!

I have absolutely no interest in dating someone that lives life recklessly. I would not associate myself with someone that drinks or smokes regularly, if that is what you meant by a “bad boy”. I also have no interest in men who are only interested in sex. I’m attracted to confidence and strong personalities, and by strong, I mean someone that has an assertive personality. Someone that can stand up for themselves.

I find laid back men much more attractive than those who cannot keep their calm under pressure. I love it when men wear all black clothing. I think it adds more appeal to their appearance.

I would be okay with dating someone that consumed alcohol in limited amounts, but only occasionally, but smoking is a HUGE turn off.

People are much more complex than just “good” or “bad”.. they’re multifaceted and have more to them than these two labels.

I do love men who are adventurous and would love me and care about me. It depends on your definition of bad boy though. What does it mean to you?

If you mean emotionally unavailable men who are reckless, then it probably has a lot to do with low self esteem, and your relationship with your primary caregiver, aka, the person (s) who raised you growing up. Were they neglectful? Abusive in any form? Or you might just have a savior complex that a lot of people do. You might think of those guys as “brown” puppies that need saving.

The bad boy doesn't interest me. I do have a type, though, that I always seem to be attracted to. Older men who are very classically intelligent. Then use that intelligence in their job, like college professors or scholars. Intelligence, maturity, and just being nice to me are #1 on my list. An attractive face is also important. Nothing is wrong with having a type.
