I’ve been hooking up with this guy and I asked him tonight if he was free and he said no I’m working and then said No I'm working. I'm also working things out with an ex so we r gonna have to cut our escapades short what does this mean? Should I quit texting him

If he’s working on things with his ex then there’s nothing else for you to say. Doesn’t seem like he’d be too bothered if you responded or not anyway, calling your situation “escapades” is a pretty detached word in my opinion.

I’d be comes crawling back, don’t pick him up. He made a choice and it was to pursue his ex rather than what was going on with you. So make it his loss rather than giving him another chance to treat you as an option.
