I don't date and thus, I am not faced to such issues.

However, if I was obliged to date for a reason or another, then I would simply forget about that person and move on. Why risk a rejection if one has other options, right?

To me, that would indicate that the target person lacks character and personality and is perhaps shy or introvert. Those are issues that are important in a relation and if a person does not move because of shyness or anxiety, then he/she will not make the right decisions later in life neither. That could be a problem in a relation.
