Are guys really too shy to make the first move?

My mom always tells me that guys are too shy in high school to make the first move, But I don't know if this is true, confirm for me please? Do females have to make the first move to a guy during this time?

The whole feminist movement has made men feel like they are going to be required to register as a sex offender if they show any hint of sexual interest towards women.

Some men just aren’t aware of how women show they are open to being approached. Or, maybe these guys have social anxiety. Maybe these guys find it difficult to hold a woman’s attention. Especially at a bar or club. Bars and clubs are full of other men competing for the same women. That can be intimidating for some men. However, if a shy guy is in a more comfortable environment, it would be easier for them to approach and come out of their shell so to speak.

Not all but many and it's not just highschool guys it true for all ages. Many guys are not but many are. I'm extra shy myself, too much honestly I will admit, the good ones usually are because they don't want to come off as. Creep or bother you. Or in some cases we let our past bad experiences ruin future chances.

No. Guys are acutely aware of the level of commitment/interest of MOST women today. Most women don't really want any guy. Most women simply want a fan club. Most women are simply pick me girls. So guys are evolving into 2 groups. 1. F***boys, guys who are not selective at all and completely non commital. Each woman is a target to them. And 2. Guys who are hyper selective. These guys are hyper commital but only the women who truly earn his interest get it. Given the nature of women it's really no surprise why men are becoming less and less active in courting and women less and happy about it.

In school? I use to get rejected all the time. Partly I think because I always fancied girls who were in the older classes. Did it stop me asking them out? Heck no. I just didn't like girls who were my own age!
I think though it is much easier for girls to ask boys out, because boys are less likely to refuse them.

Yes and no. Some dudes are too shy. Women never really have to understand what it’s like to go through this as they aren’t the ones who are expected to. Some women do ask, but very few. On the other hand dudes don’t want to get caught up in some accusation. Also a lot of men these days just don’t see women as worth the chase. They’re tired of them.

I was for a very long time. Probably until a year or 2 ago, now I just don't care.

This is 100% true though and it's getting worse with how easy tinder and other apps are and how awkward an approach on public can be at times. Guys are terrified
