I don't understand how some people can date and live with each other for multiple years without the possibility of getting married.
626 opinions shared on Dating topic. Marriage is just a tool to keep people in check and let them spend unnescecary money and keeps them binded to stupid rules and laws that are making any sense.
Marriage is something from the past, old fashioned. I dont wanne marry not because of the commitment I dont wanne give her, but purely because of the laws applying to it, especially in case of a divorce.
My girl can have a wedding party, nice dress, Honeymoon and all the things that she dreams off but I'm not signing any documents that are binding me to a certain law. I simply dont thrust the government and I dont wanne have anything to do with them.
And for the record... I'm commiting 100% from the beginning of a relationship to the very end. Marriage won't make any difference in me commiting or not because I was already commited00 Reply

+1 yMarriage used to mean something. Nowadays people are monetarily incentivized and encouraged to give up at the first sign of trouble and most people don’t fully recover from divorce. Until there are changes to the law and a fundamental shift in society, I see it continuing to be less and less relevant.

+1 yLong ago before we got married, I couldn't say yes to the marriage proposal of my husband because I couldn't conceive & bear children for him. I wanted to be fair to him that he'd have a well-fulfilled life and tried to set him free so he may find a woman that can complete him. He refused to leave me and, yet, I didn't still feel right about marrying him again & again, one proposal after another. He still remained loyal to me. I knew that the unconditional love he had been giving me was so good to pass up. I've always been in love with him and it kept growing stronger. So, it was just the right move for me to be the one to propose to him instead. He said yes. <3

I think asking for marriage is a basic human right. If you're afraid of marriage, then I think you still have fears in your relationship. People say a piece of paper is not important? Yeah so why scared of it? It gives the spouses rights and duties over each other making the bond even more secure and safe and lovable! Especially in case of growing a family - how insecure would the children be without the laws protecting them if the couple is not registered for marriage with the law. LAWS ARE THERE TO PROTECT US - ANYONE WHO IGNORES IT OR PUSHES AWAY MARRIAGE IS NOT LOYAL. (at least this is what I think)

What if someone wants a partner for the rest of their life? Why would they need to get married?
- +1 y
Right, it's not a must to speak vows and have a ring. You can do that in front of eachother in private and get yourself that without a wedding just fine.

+1 yMarriage is a huge decision, bro. Did you know there's a whole procedure for divorce in India, but for marriage you can just get it done within a week? That's the thing, if your partner isn't compatible enough for you, then you can kiss your assets, money and time goodbye. For real.

Once the man signed the papers he formally turned himself into the wive's slave. She got him by the balls and can destroy his life from one day to the other.

+1 yVery easily. Commitment is not conveyed by a ring and the threat that the woman can take away your life if she so desiers with a divorce.
No. Commitment is staying together KNOWING you have nothing to lose otherwise. Hence, I am never going to get married. I will commit myself to someone if so, but no rings. Just wows to each other.

+1 yFor some, the benefits of marriage are not enough for them to get married. I also know a few couples who have lived together for decades. when you ask them why they aren't married, their typical answer is "We never got around to it."

If I were in a long-term relationship, I wouldn't want to marry either, as I'm not religious.
00 Replya ring on ur finger , a wedding , or just the signing of a paper doesn't have to symbolize ur love for someone

+1 yWell I'm well off. I didn't get this way making dumb financial decisions. Marriage is about the dumbest financial decision I can think of. So no thanks.
00 Reply 2.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. Some people simply don't care about the concept of "marriage". It's mostly a religious thing after all, at some point we didn't have the concept or marriage at all yet, but we still paired up.

+1 yThat's because marriage has nothing to do with loving someone. Marriage contracts are just pieces of paper that lets the government get involve in your life.
00 Reply 2K opinions shared on Dating topic. Marriage is a scam nowadays, especially for men. There's more to lose than to gain.
